In presenting the award, Florida Bar President Scott G. Hawkins recognized Lile's long history of service and active participation in the Florida Bar, most recently on the Florida Court Technology Commission, on which he was one of three practicing lawyers appointed by the chief justice of the Florida Supreme Court. He was also liaison to the Clerk of Courts for the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, and co-chair of the Electronic Filing Committee.

Lile, LLME '87, is certified by the Florida Bar as a wills, trusts and estates lawyer, and is a Fellow in the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, for which he serves as state chair. He is past chair of the Florida Bar's Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, for which he received the section's Annual Service Award in 1999 for his efforts on its behalf, as well as the William S. Belcher Lifetime Professionalism Award in 2009 and the Robert C. Scott Award in 2010, for exemplary service. He has been included in Woodward/White's The Best Lawyers in America since 1995. Lile is recognized as one of the 100 Top Super Lawyers in Florida and was selected for Florida Trend's Legal Elite Hall of Fame.
