As of Tuesday, and on behalf of the University of Miami School of Law, Pilgrim and Zovko will teach a three-week class titled Olympic Games & the Law at University College London. Pilgrim developed the course and curriculum for the University of Miami and taught it to upper-class law students, with Zovko's assistance, during this year's spring semester.

Pilgrim is a veteran of the Olympic sports scene, beginning as a teenage track-and-field athlete, and now – 33 years later – as a sports law professional. "This will be the first time I attend the Olympics Games not solely as a sports fan or employee of an Olympic sports organization," Pilgrim said. "This Olympics will give me the perspective of being outside the Olympic encampment."

Zovko is a 2009 graduate of Miami Law who has served as a teaching assistant for other summer sports-law programs overseas.

"We are absolutely thrilled to be headed to London under the auspices of the University of Miami School of Law to teach a law course that specifically focuses on the Olympic Games," Pilgrim added. "We will bring timely, relevant, real-world examples of what is happening daily within the Games environment and provide legal analysis, guest speakers and promote discussion among the American law students attending the class."

The summer law course is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the Olympic sports framework, the myriad parties involved, as well as the legal and political issues that arise in that context. The power and authority of the International Olympic Committee vis-á-vis National Olympic Committees, International Federations, National Sports Federations and athletes will be explored and explained.

An adjunct professor at Miami Law, Pilgrim is co-founder of Precise Advisory Group, which offers expertise in such areas as corporate finance and restructuring, general business formation and strategic planning, and sports program design and management. She is owner of Pilgrim & Associates Law Office in New York and North Miami, and is a member of the American Bar Association, Sports Lawyers Association and Women in Sports & Events. She is also a member and former Board member of the Association of Black Women Attorneys.

Zovko, a rising attorney with a passion for sports law and a consultant to Precise Advisory Group, serves as Pilgrim's teaching assistant.
