"Volunteering at this event was a great opportunity for me to meet many attorneys in the field of law that I'm most interested in practicing in," said LL.M. student Eva Gonzalez. "I got contact information from individuals that perhaps I would have never gotten the chance to meet; attorneys from Argentina, Belgium and the Dominican Republic."
The meeting at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach included more than 70 concurrent continuing legal education sessions and showcases with world-class speakers; programming on key issues and interest areas; networking opportunities with contemporaries from around the world; special programming for young lawyers and law students; and provisions for a year's worth of CLE credits.
"I had an amazing time volunteering at the ABA Section of Law International Fall Meeting," said second-year law student Holly Keith. "Having the opportunity to meet so many legal professionals from across the globe reminded me why I find international law so inspiring, and why Miami is the perfect city to pursue this area of the law."
Third-year student Albert Medina concurred: "I had a fantastic and greatly-informative time volunteering. Due to my keen interest in international law, I was able to converse with numerous reputable attorneys from distinguished law firms who were well versed in various aspects of international law. In the process, I learned a great deal about their specialties and areas of practice on a personal level. Moreover, through my interactions with these particular attorneys, I was also able to network and form a whole host of promising contacts. In the future, for an up-and-coming 3L with an affinity for some area, or areas, of international law like myself, volunteering at this event is something that I would highly recommend."
