Judges from each division will join in a panel discussion, highlighting their latest decisions, pointers, and common annoyances. Throughout the day panels will discuss Standing Chapter 13 Trustees and Chapter 7 Trustees with experienced local consumer bankruptcy attorneys, followed by a period of questions and answers. The Clerk of Court and staff counsel from the Office of the United States Trustee will also take part in the program.
The workshop will include a panel discussion consisting of staff counsel for the Florida Bar to provide pointers on how to avoid violations of Unlicensed Practice of Law and Canon of Ethics for the Florida Bar. This year's program provides a unique look into changes in local practice and navigating consumer bankruptcies.
The $305 registration fee will support the Louis Phillips Scholarship Fund. Course materials, lunch, and parking are included in the cost of registration. The workshop has been approved for 9 Florida Bar CLE credits, including 1 in ethics. The workshop will begin at 8 a.m. and finish at 5 p.m. in the Storer Auditorium of the UM School of Business Administration, 5250 University Drive on the Coral Gables campus.
