Distinguished Graduates, Having Shown Excellence in Oral and Written Advocacy, Join Order of Barristers

Miami Law has selected ten recent graduates to The Order of Barristers, a national honorary organization that recognizes students who have excelled in moot court and mock trial activities while in law school.

The former students who were chosen for this honor are Jose Luis Becerra, Daniel Patrick Hanlon, Jeremy Leonard Kahn, Olivia Kelman, Gabriella Morello, Estefania Nasielski, Liana Rose Nealon, Carlos E. Nunez, Christopher Scott Prater and Annabelle Lea Torgman.

All ten students graduated from Miami Law on May 11 during the spring Commencement ceremony at the University of Miami's BankUnited Center.

"We are pleased to recognize these outstanding students for their efforts in mock trial and moot court activities," said Professor Emeritus Laurence Rose, Director of the Litigation Skills Program. "The Order of Barristers is a national organization which encourages excellence in oral and written advocacy, and the recipients have not only distinguished themselves within the law school, but on our teams which compete on a national level. They join an elite group of recipients whose skills and knowledge are reflected by this honor."

Membership in the Order is one of the highest honors awarded by the School of Law in regard to advocacy skills. Only eight to ten new members are inducted each academic year.
