Professor Mary Anne Franks recently spoke on “Women’s Online Rights” at an international conference celebrating women’s suffrage in Iceland. Professor Franks teaches criminal law, criminal procedure, family law, and First Amendment law. Her research and teaching interests include cyberlaw, self-defense, discrimination, free speech, and privacy. Professor Franks serves as the Legislative and Tech Policy Director and Vice-President of the Cyber Civil Rights Initiative, a nonprofit organization that raises awareness about online harassment and advocates for legal, technical, and social reform.
