In March, Professor Mary Anne Franks spoke at the South by Southwest Interactive (SXSW) 2016 conference in Austin, Texas, on the panel "Is a Safer, Saner, and Civil Internet Possible?" Also in March, she gave a presentation at the University of North Carolina Charlotte Center for Professional and Applied Ethics on "How To Defeat Revenge Porn." In February, Professor Franks was a keynote speaker for the conference “More than Revenge: Developing Effective Law Reform to Address the Harms of Revenge Pornography” in Melbourne, Australia and participated in the Twitter Trust and Safety Symposium at Twitter Headquarters in San Francisco. In January, Professor Franks spoke at the New York City Mayor's Office to Combat Domestic Violence on the topic of non-consensual pornography. Professor. Franks contributed to the Concurring Opinions Online Symposium on Bernard Harcourt's book, Exposed: Desire and Disobedience in the Digital Age; her contribution, "Unequal Exposure," can be found here. Professor Franks teaches criminal law, criminal procedure, family law, and First Amendment law.
