Professor Donna Coker recently led a webinar hosted by the National Clearinghouse for the Defense of Battered Women on “Why Opposing Hyper-Incarceration Should be Central to the Work of Anti-Domestic Violence Movement.” During the webinar, Professor Coker discussed the enormous growth of the U.S. prison population and how survivors of domestic violence end up in prison for crimes that stemmed from their victimization. Professor Coker’s scholarship focuses on criminal law, gender and inequality. She is a nationally recognized expert in domestic violence law and policy.
