Miami Law Alumnus Hilton Napoleon II Advocates for Victim of North Miami Police Shooting

Miami Law alumnus Hilton Napoleon II found himself in the middle of a media maelstrom this week when he took on client Charles Kinsey, a behavioral therapist who was shot by police as he was trying to bring a young autistic man back to the facility. Bystander video of Kinsey, unarmed and lying in middle of a Miami intersection with his hands raised, went viral on Thursday, catapulting Kinsey and Napoleon onto the front pages and lead stories of national news.

Napoleon, J.D. ’05, is an associate at Rasco Klock and specializes in civil rights violations, among other practice areas. Before joining the firm, Napoleon was an assistant state attorney, and interned for U.S. District Judge Donald Graham. At Miami Law, he was in the John W. Kozyak Mentorship Program and active with the Center for Ethics and Public Service and the James Weldon Johnson Summer Institute.
