CORAL GABLES, Fla. (October 11, 2016) – An amendment to allow physicians to prescribe medical marijuana to patients in Florida is on the November 8, 2016 ballot. A panel of experts will discuss the ramifications of passage on Friday, October 14 from 3:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Shalala Center on the Coral Gables campus.
“The Morning After Marijuana Legalization: Now What?” will examine what Amendment 2 will allow if it achieves statewide passage.
Ben Pollara, campaign director for United for Care (Yes on 2 Campaign); Andrew Freedman, director of the Governor’s Office of Marijuana Coordination for the State of Colorado; Patrick O’Rourke, vice president, University counsel, and secretary of the Board of Regents at the University of Colorado; will be joined by Judge Alex Ferrer, J.D. `86, former judge for the Eleventh Judicial District and host of “Judge Alex.” Melissa Kuiper Blake, J.D. `05 senior policy advisor and counsel at Brownstein Hyatt Faber Schreck, LLC will moderate.
