CORAL GABLES, Fla. (June 19, 2017) – The University of Miami School of Law was recently named a “leader in learning” by the prestigious international publication, Innovation 800. Miami Law is the only U.S. law school included in the edition, which features contributions from industry pioneers and commentators, as well as informative features, engaging insights, and expert advice.
The Cambridge University Students’ Union, in partnership with St. James’s House, commemorates the university’s 800 years of innovation with the digital launch of the new publication that furthers the discussion for tomorrow’s leaders and innovators, challenging the status quo and opening new pathways.
“The University of Miami School of Law is proud to be featured in this impressive project, which tells the creative story of the University of Cambridge and will help inspire students to be the world’s next great innovators,” said Patricia D. White, dean of Miami Law.
Innovation 800 covers a range of subjects – from the impact of the University of Cambridge’s groundbreaking thinkers (from the philosopher Erasmus to the Monty Python team and beyond) to the university’s unique tutorial system, which helps students think for themselves. It also examines the rise and growth of Silicon Fen – Cambridge’s equivalent to Silicon Valley.
Innovation 800 connects students, innovators, educators, recruiters and the wider world of business. The publication mentions Dean White's recognition as one of the most influential women in legal education in addition to the law school's:
- Unique LL.M. Master of Laws Programs
- LawWithoutWalls Program
- Compressed, Short Course Offerings
- WeRobot Conference
- MiamiLex
- Startup Law Practicum
“As a showcase for innovation across a variety of industries and career paths, we’re thrilled to be publishing this new and valuable resource for our students,” said CUSU President Amatey Doku.
The launch is supported across social media via CUSU and St James’s House platforms with the hashtag #Innovation800.
