Lecturer in Law Jan L. Jacobowitz recently presented her forthcoming paper, “Happy Birthday Siri—Dialing in Legal Ethics for Artificial Intelligence, Smart Phones, and Real Lawyers” at the Texas A&M Law School Symposium, Artificial Intelligence and The Legal Profession. She also recently spoke at the Minnesota Lawyers Mutual Conference on “Legal Ethics Avoiding Social Media Pitfalls in Your Practice.” Jacobowitz is the Director of the Professional Responsibility & Ethics Program at Miami Law. Under Jacobowitz’s direction, PREP was a 2012 recipient of the ABA’s E. Smythe Gambrell Award ---the leading national award for a professionalism program. She is the co-author of the book, Legal Ethics And Social Media, A Practitioner’s Handbook, published by the ABA in June 2017. Jacobowitz developed the curriculum for the course Social Media and the Law and is among the first law school faculty throughout the country to teach the course.
