This year's forum takes place at University of Miami's Newman Alumni Center.

Lawyers will be coming to campus on December 8, 2017 to participate in the 2ndClass Action and Complex Litigation Forum. This event offers a unique perspective for attorneys looking to understand the latest cutting-edge issues and topics associated with multi-district class actions and mass tort litigation.

Advancing the Study of Class Action Litigation

The Forum – originally the brainchild of three leading Miami firms  in trial, appellate, and class action law Kozyak Tropin & ThrockmortonPodhurst Orseck, and Harke Clasby & Bushman LLP – brings together leaders in the legal, political and academic spheres to educate the public on how to better utilize and understand class actions.

This Year’s Timely Topics

On the agenda for this year’s forum are a discussion of a hypothetical class action case, class action from a judge’s perspective, hot topics in class action and mass tort litigation, and the settlement and resolution of class actions. The lunch keynote, Steven Marks, will speak on "Mass Torts vs. Class Action; the NFL Concussion Litigation Story." Marks has acted as lead counsel, appointed court counsel and/or counsel representing victims in a number of commercial class actions including the NFL Concussion Litigation.
