CORAL GABLES, Fla. (April 2, 2018) – The Global Entertainment + Sport Conference 2018, presented by the University of Miami School of Law’s Entertainment & Sports Law Society and the School of Education & Human Development’s Sports Administration Program, will be held on Thursday and Friday, April 5 and 6, 2018.
The unique conference focuses on the areas of both law and business with keynote addresses and panels by prominent attorneys and executives. Students, alumni, and legal professionals will have numerous networking opportunities throughout the forums.
The two-day conference will drill down on topics such as the rise of athletic activism, innovations in stadium development, issues facing in-house counsels, and the impact of the new tax code for athletes, sports properties, and affiliates. Other discussion will cover financial planning and brand building for athletes as well as monetizing digital content and sports gaming. Speakers include Jorge Posada, former New York Yankees All-Star catcher; Arny Schreer, vice president and general manager of partnership development at Home Team Sports, a division of Fox Sports Media Group; and ESPN sports analyst Maria Taylor.
