Natalie Barefoot Selected as an Abess Center Faculty Scholar for 2019-2020 Academic Year

Natalie Barefoot, Director, Practitioner in Residence, Environmental Justice Clinic & Abbess Center Faculty Fellow, was recently selected to be one of the inaugural Abess Center Faculty Scholars for the 2019-2020 school year, with the possibility for a one year renewal. This is the inaugural year for the Abess Center Faculty Scholar Program. The overall aim of the Abess Center Faculty Scholar Program is to increase interdisciplinary environmental education, research and outreach at UM and to the wider community. The Scholars will be provided with funds and support to pursue scholarship, pedagogy and research in environmental topics, both individually and in teams. At Miami Law Barefoot teaches clinical classes and is the Environmental Justice Clinic’s supervising attorney managing projects ranging from toxic torts to policies and practices that inequitably affect low-income and minority communities in Florida.
