This year, the gathering was on November 9 in the Donna E. Shalala Student Center and included a conversation with Miami Law’s new dean, Anthony E. Varona, facilitated by Emmy-award-winning journalist and NBC anchor, Jackie Nespral, A.B. ’89.
Guests were welcomed to the breakfast by Daniel Newman, J.D. ’91, Vice President of the Law Alumni Association, and Jason Kairalla, J.D. ’02, President of the Law Alumni Association.
Honorees of the Law Alumni Association awards included Karen J. Ladis, J.D. ’90, Executive Director of Dade Legal Aid/Put Something Back, and Edith G. Osman, J.D. ’83, Of Counsel at Carlton Fields, who both received the Henry Latimer Leadership and Professionalism Award.
Timothy Kolaya, J.D. ’08, a partner at Stumphauzer, Foslid, Sloman, Ross & Kolaya, was given the Thomas Davison, III Memorial Service Award and Justin Stivers, J.D. ’13, Founder of The Probate Law Firm and Lauren Quattromani, J.D. ’13, an attorney at AXS Law Group, were awarded the Young Alumni Award.
The Mary E. Doyle Award, presented by Miami Law Women, went to Professor of Law and Dean’s Distinguished Scholar Martha Mahoney
The M. Minnette Massey Moot Court Award was given to Suzanne M. Aladhan, J.D. ’17, who is an attorney with Holland & Knight. The Professor Daniel E. Murray Distinguished Service Award, presented by the University of Miami Law Review, went to Ravika Rameshwar, J.D. ’16 of the law firm of Diaz, Reus & Targ.
Mark F. Raymond, J.D. ’83, and Kairalla both received the Law Alumni Association President’s Recognition awards for their exemplary service as president of the Law Alumni Association.
