CORAL GABLES, Fla. (September 8, 2020) – Attorneys Gary Saul and Anthony De Yurre will lead the advisory board charged with helping to grow and elevate the University of Miami School of Law’s Master of Laws in Real Property Development for the 2020-21 academic year.
The LL.M. program is named after South Florida legal legend Robert Traurig, J.D. ’50, and preeminent real estate and zoning attorney who co-founded the Greenberg Traurig law firm. The degree is a post-graduate option for attorneys seeking to deepen their knowledge in the real estate development realm.
Miami Law is one of only a handful of schools nationwide that offers a Real Property Development LL.M. degree, affording students an opportunity to immerse themselves in the study of real estate law within one of the country’s most dynamic real estate development markets. The program, offered on campus at the University of Miami and through a distance learning option, caters to recent law school graduates and practitioners worldwide.
De Yurre, ’06 RPD LL.M., is a partner in Bilzin Sumberg’s land development and government relations practice. Saul is a shareholder in the Miami office of Greenberg Traurig, who has been leading the advisory board as chair since 2017. Together, they will lead a 19-member advisory board comprised of members of prominent law firms, general counsels of major real estate companies, and real estate and business experts spanning banking and financial services, developers, brokerage, architecture, design, title insurance, and construction.
A member of the advisory board since 2017 and an adjunct professor of the RPD LL.M. since 2016, De Yurre’s practice focuses representing real estate developers and investors in complex land use and zoning matters with a focus on transit-oriented development, large scale mixed-use development and public-private partnerships.
Saul is one of the nation’s leading attorneys in the area of condominium law. He represents a broad range of clients in connection with the structuring, development, ownership, and financing of real estate projects, including many high-profile, luxury and mixed-use, commercial, retail, and residential condominiums and vertically subdivided projects.
The advisory board’s newest members are Kim Hoover, CEO of RED Multifamily, and Tadd Schwartz, president of Schwartz Media Strategies, an integrated communications firm based in Miami. Hoover practiced law for over two decades and was a partner in several law firms in Washington, D.C., before transitioning to a career in real estate development and entrepreneurship. Schwartz brings 25 years of strategic communications experience, counseling clients across a range of industries, including some of Florida’s leading law and financial services firms, and residential and commercial developers and brokers.

Students in the RPD program gain access to South Florida’s most transformative real estate projects, facilitated by the RPD LL.M. faculty and advisory board members. These have included site visits to Panorama, the tallest residential tower south of Manhattan; Downtown’s Miami Worldcenter development; and Brickell City Centre, among many others.
