Professor Narine Weldon Participates in Panel on Sustainability Reporting

Professor Marcia Narine Weldon recently participated in panel discussion about sustainability reporting, sponsored by AWWEE, an organization that is dedicated to the advancement of all women in the fields of water, energy, and the environment.

Professor Narine Weldon, along with two recent Miami Law graduates, Kenya Rothstein and Jordan Rhodes, discussed how sustainability reports can be used to help make responsible consumer and investment decisions. They also discussed what sustainability reporting entails, the state of the law on this type of reporting, whether it is effective, and how sustainability reporting can be used.

Weldon is the director of the Transactional Skills Program, Faculty Coordinator of the Business Compliance & Sustainability Concentration and a Lecturer in Law. She is also General Counsel and Chief Diversity Officer of MDO Partners, the General Counsel of Ecoloblue, LLC, a sustainable startup. Her teaching and research interests include corporate governance, employment law, regulatory compliance, corporate social responsibility, and the intersection of business and human rights.  She has written several law review articles and blogs every two weeks on compliance and ESG matters for the Business Law Professor Blog. Additionally, she has been interviewed by the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, NPR, the Guardian, Verge, Agenda (Financial Times), and other news outlets around the world.
