Professor of Law Emeritus David Abraham authored the chapter on “Law and Migration” in the 4th edition of chapter in Caroline Brettell and James Hollifield, eds, Migration Theory: Talking across the Disciplines (New York: Routledge Press, 4th ed. 2022). His contribution to the 3rd edition won the American Political Science Association award for the “Best Book Chapter” of the year.
Abraham has published widely on issues of politics and economics in Germany and is the author of The Collapse of the Weimar Republic, which examined the conditions and fate of a social- democratic, class-compromise effort to establish a viable welfare state. A new edition of the book with be published in 2023. More recently he has written on immigration and citizenship law with a particular focus on citizenship in a neo-liberal era and problems of social solidarity and integration in Germany, Israel, and the US.
