Professor William Bratton, senior lecturer and Miami Law’s de la Cruz/Mentschikoff Chair in Law and Economics, recently published an article, “Fair Value as Process: A Retrospective Reconsideration of Delaware Appraisal,” in the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law and an essay, “Special Interests at the Gate: The ALI Corporate Governance Project, 1978-1992,” in The American Law Institute: A Centennial History, published by the Oxford University Press.
Bratton also presented his draft article, “Shareholder Primacy versus Shareholder Accountability,” at the Berle XIV Conference, held in March at the University of Southern California Law School.
Bratton joined the University of Miami Law faculty in 2020. He is also the Nicholas F. Gallicchio Professor of Law Emeritus at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School where he was a member of the faculty and Co-Director of the Institute for Law & Economics from 2010 to 2020.
He previously served on the faculties of the Cardozo, Rutgers, George Washington, and Georgetown law schools. He also has been the Anton Philips Professor at the faculty of law of the University of Tilburg, the Unilever Visiting Professor at the faculty of law of the University of Leiden, the Simizu Visiting Professor at the faculty of law of the London School of Economics. He is a Research Associate of the European Corporate Governance Institute.
