Super Lawyers magazine's "Law Schools with the Most Alumni Selected by Super Lawyers" listing places Miami Law eighth in the U.S. out of all law schools. The ranking puts Miami Law as the #1 school in South Florida and #2 in all of Florida. The respected magazine has been profiling outstanding lawyers since 1991.
A Ranking In-Step with Career Accomplishment
As a law school with excellent trial advocacy, transactional skills, and clinical programs, it is not surprising that Miami Law is in the top 10 as these programs prepare Miami Law students for practice. Kicking off strong careers is evident in employment numbers - in 2022, 89% of graduates were employed within 10 months of graduation. Miami Law was in #15 place in 2021.
Miami Law has seen strong employment outcomes validated before. For example, in Law.com's 2022 Go-To Law School Report, Miami Law was a top 50 law school for the percentage of graduates in the largest U.S. 100 law firms and 25th in promotions to partner. Further, of the top 30 firms in the U.S., ranked by gross revenue, Miami Law has the most graduates leading these firms, second only to Harvard Law School according to the Am Law 100, 2023 Listing.

Instead, the Super Lawyers' ranking shows how good of a lawyer a student from a particular school will ultimately become. Nominating fellow attorneys as a "super lawyer" entails respect for their skill, demeanor, and integrity.

The Selection Process - How Many Lawyers Make the List?
Every year, Super Lawyers magazine recognizes lawyers from more than 70 fields of law through peer nominations and independent research.
The selection process is multiphase and rigorous. According to the Super Lawyers' website, "each candidate is evaluated on 12 indicators of peer recognition and professional achievement. Selections are made on an annual, state-by-state basis. The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel." The candidates who receive the highest point totals in each practice area are selected for the final list.
How is selection in Super Lawyers distinguished from other attorney rankings? Each list is created methodically and objectively by combining research with peer nomination and review, and courts and bar associations have validated the selection process. A lawyer earns the selection annually - it is not a lifetime designation. Lastly, it is exclusive and recognizes at most 5% of attorneys in each state to the list.
