Miami Law has named Tom Nealon director of the Robert Traurig-Greenberg Traurig LL.M. in Real Property Development. He most recently served as interim director and has taught in the RPD Program since 1996. He currently teaches "Securitization of Commercial Real Estate" and "Distressed Property Workouts."
"We are pleased to announce that Tom Nealon has agreed to serve as director of our Real Property Development LL.M. Program," David Yellen, dean and M. Minnette Massey Professor of Law, wrote in an email to the community. "Tom took on the role of interim director last August 2022 and had a very successful academic year."
Nealon is a longtime real estate industry leader and has been a member of the RPD adjunct faculty since 1996. He agreed to serve as interim director of the RPD Program for the 2022-2023 academic year.
"I am truly honored by this opportunity to serve as director of the RPD program and continue working with Silvia Regis, and our amazing RPD faculty, alumni and students," said Nealon.
Nealon is a graduate of Georgetown University and the Georgetown University Law Center and is admitted to practice in New York and Florida. He teaches "Securitization of Commercial Real Estate" and "Distressed Property Workouts" in the RPD program. He is a co-author with Talcott J. Franklin of "Mortgage and Asset Backed Securities Litigation Handbook" (Thomson West) and a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers.
