'A' in International Law

With one of the largest number of faculty members who teach or do scholarly research in the area of international law of any American law school, the University of Miami School of Law is renowned for its Global and International Law Program.
'A' in Estate Planning, A- in Real Estate
Named a leader in real estate and estate planning, Miami Law received an A in Estate Planning with the Heckerling Graduate Program in Estate Planning Institute highlighted and an A- in Real Estate.
The increasing complexity of income tax, wealth transfer tax, and property laws, combined with an aging population, have created a demand for attorneys with expertise in estate planning.
Miami Law offers a robust curriculum in real estate taught by faculty recognized as leaders in a field that covers land use, housing, commercial real estate, and environmental and tax implications.
'A-' in Technology Law
Miami Law was named a leader in technology law with the "Intellectual Property Law Through the Lens of Taylor Swift" course highlighted and received an A- in technology law. Miami is the tech ecosystem with the highest density of startup companies in the United States and the destination to which more technology industry workers have migrated over the last year than anywhere else in the nation.
Miami Law offers a broad range of courses in the area of tech law as well as concentrations in The Business of Innovation, Law, and Technology (BILT) and Business Compliance and Sustainability. Hands-on learning is a focus of Miami Law, such as the Startup Clinic, which gives students insight into technology law and a window into what it is like to practice in that area under the supervision of attorneys and professors.
Miami Law is also well-known for We Robot, a conference on legal and policy issues relating to robotics, as well as the LawWithoutWalls program, an all-virtual experiential learning initiative that leverages intergenerational, cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary exchange to change the mindsets and behaviors of practicing and aspiring legal professionals.
'A-' in Trial Advocacy
Miami Law also earned high marks in trial advocacy as moot court (ranked #3 in the nation), litigation skills, and mock trial are vital components of the law school program.
Experienced trial lawyers and judges teach the acclaimed Litigation Skills Program. Students engage in rigorous, hands-on training in practical skills for competent professional legal service. Students can also concentrate their law studies on Litigation and Dispute Resolution.
Students hone advocacy skills locally, across the U.S., and worldwide through the Charles C. Papy Moot Court Board, the Yvette Ostolaza Mock Trial Team, and the International Moot Court Program.
A- in Public Policy Law
Miami Law also received an A- for Public Policy Law tied to our partnership with the University of Miami Department of Political Science, College of Arts and Sciences to offer a joint J.D./M.P.A. in Law and Public Administration. The degrees prepare law School students for government, political, and nonprofit legal positions. The program provides a solid theoretical framework and grounding in policy analysis, administration, and management.
A- in Entertainment Law and Intellectual Property
Miami Law was named a leader in entertainment law with "Chat ENT: AI's Impact on Entertainment, Arts, and Sports" spotlighted, as well as received an A- in entertainment law.
The entertainment law offerings at Miami Law prepare students to represent the full spectrum of collaborators in the entertainment industry. In addition to directors, actors, or musicians, entertainment lawyers more often advise companies that produce and distribute entertainment content, license celebrity brands, and purchase and sell companies or music catalogs.
In the magazine's spring edition the law school ranked highly for intellectual property.
A in Alternative Dispute Resolution
In Pre-Law Magazine's spring issue, Miami Law was called out as a leader in Alternative Dispute Resolution. The magazine highlighted the Litigation Skills Program as well as the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Concentration.
In the winter edition, Miami Law also ranked #6 as the best schools for Hispanic students.
