Christina Ceballos-Levy was born and raised in Miami, Florida and received her undergraduate degree from Florida International University. While Ceballos-Levy was in high school, her mother worked as a legal secretary for a criminal defense lawyer. One day, that lawyer offered to train Ceballos-Levy to research the law, write appellate briefs, and interview clients. She immediately fell in love with the legal profession.

Ceballos-Levy chose Miami Law because of its great scholarship opportunities, dedicated professors, and connections to the Miami community. While at Miami Law, Ceballos-Levy was Executive Editor of the University of Miami Law Review and a member of Charles C. Papy, Jr. Moot Court Board. She participated in a bankruptcy moot court competition, mentored by Professor Patricia Redmond. She loves the faculty and legal community surrounding Miami law and the continued mentorship provided to students and alumni.

During law school, Ceballos-Levy interned with a federal judge, the Honorable Alan S. Gold, and then clerked for him after graduation. She also worked at Kenny Nachwalter, beginning during the summer after her 2L year, and practiced with them for more than twenty years. Just a few weeks ago, she joined Rivero Mestre as a partner, where she will continue to practice complex commercial litigation, with a focus on cross-border disputes.

Ceballos-Levy and her husband, Guillermo Levy, JD ‘00, have three children. They often take them to campus to swim, eat, attend camp, and visit the law school, which continues to remain a large part of their lives. Ceballos-Levy and her husband founded a scholarship fund a few years ago and mentor the students who receive it. Ceballos-Levy also participates in CLE programs and networking opportunities through Miami Law. In her free time, Ceballos-Levy loves to travel with her family.

Ceballos-Levy wants students to know that it is important to be proactive and reach out to the Miami Law community. Its alumni are always happy to meet and mentor other alumni and students. Reaching out to alumni is one of the best ways to reap the rewards of the Miami Law experience.
