Max Leinoff was born and raised in Miami. He comes from a family of attorneys - his father practiced law for nearly fifty years, his older brother has practiced law for nearly twenty years, and his uncle, a recently retired Miami Dade-County judge, attended Miami Law at night while playing for the Miami Dolphins in the late 1980s. Between his dad, brother, and uncle, Leinoff was inspired to pursue a career in the legal field and wanted to attend the University of Miami from a very young age.

What stands out to Leinoff about Miami Law is its positive impact and wide presence throughout the community. He firmly believes that Miami Law produces excellent lawyers and professionals with a desire to give back to the university and pay it forward to younger generations.

Leinoff has been working at Leinoff & Lemos, P.A. since his third year of law school and has exclusively practiced family law for over a decade. About three years ago, he became a partner at Leinoff & Lemos, P.A.

He has made it a point to stay involved with the law school since graduating, joining the Young Alumni Committee shortly after graduation. Leinoff served as chair of the Young Alumni Committee from 2022-2023. While on the committee, he started a scholarship for law students, with the assistance of others, that has been funded through fundraising efforts for several years now. He currently serves as Vice President of Student Affairs for the Law Alumni Association and has been on the board of directors and executive committee of the Law Alumni Association over the last several years.

When he is not working or giving back to the community, Leinoff loves spending time with his two-year-old daughter, Elsie, and wife, Katy. He encourages alumni to get more involved and give back to the legal community because “we all have the power to make a difference and many underestimate just how much of a difference they can truly make in this world.”
