New executive director of development named
Connor Adams

Connor Adams joined the University of Miami School of Law in June, appointed as the new executive director of  development in the Division of Development and Alumni Relations. In this position, he is spearheading the institution's fundraising initiatives.

In his capacity, Adams oversees a dedicated team aimed at enhancing development and alumni relations, catering to an expansive network of over 22,000 alumni. One of his key objectives includes reducing the financial burden on students.

"I am elated to join the University of Miami School of Law and honored to be part of this distinguished institution," said Adams. "I am committed to partnering with donors, alumni, and friends to help change lives for our students and faculty, create new opportunities to elevate the law school, and support the dean in fulfilling her goals."

His collaboration with Patricia Sánchez Abril, interim dean of the School of Law, focuses on implementing pivotal fundraising and alumni engagement strategies to foster the School of Law's growth.

"Adams brings a wealth of experience in university and educational fundraising, driven by his belief in education's transformative power for societal benefit and community collaboration," Abril said.

Adams' academic background includes a Master of Higher Education Administration from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon, and a Bachelor of Science in education from the University of Miami. His career trajectory began at Portland State University, followed by roles at the University of New Mexico Foundation and New Mexico State University, where he honed his skills in development work.

Before his current role, Adams served as the senior director of development for the College of Engineering at the University of Miami, later advancing to oversee both the College of Engineering and School of Architecture as the executive director of development.

Beyond his professional endeavors, his personal life is equally fulfilling, as he is a dedicated father and husband and an enthusiast of dogs, golf, and good coffee.
