In 2025, ten University of Miami School of Law graduates secured spots on Billboard's prestigious Top 100 Music Lawyers list, showcasing the influence and expertise of its alumni in the music and entertainment legal landscape.
Among those honored, three hold joint degrees with the Frost School of Music's master's in Music Business and Entertainment Industries, while others benefited from the School of Law's LL.M. in Entertainment, Art, and Sports program.
"It is truly gratifying to be recognized once more by Billboard as a leading law School for music law," said Greg Levy, associate dean and program director. "Our legacy of producing exceptional music lawyers continues to grow, stemming from the early vision of trailblazer Fred Goldring, who established the Entertainment and Sports Law Society in the 1980s."
The School of Law boasts a comprehensive catalog of programs, including LL.M. and J.D./LL.M. degrees in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law, alongside unique offerings like the J.D./M.M. and J.D./M.A. degrees in Music Business and Entertainment Industries. The wide-ranging array of programs equips students with the skills needed to navigate the multifaceted challenges of the evolving music industry.

Their impressive achievements highlight the quality education and extensive opportunities the School of Law provides its students.
Miami Law prioritizes a practical approach to legal education, allowing students to engage closely with industry contracts through hands-on study and negotiation exercises. Relevant internships further bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world experience. The program also emphasizes networking by connecting students with industry leaders through mentorships, a guest speaker series, and the vital Entertainment and Sports Law Society.
Significant support from alumni enriches the program, notably through Joseph Weinberger, J.D. '82, a renowned executive producer and music mogul, who founded an endowed scholarship to assist students in the joint J.D./LL.M. Program in Entertainment, Arts, and Sports Law. This initiative helps Miami Law attract and support promising talent set to shape the future of the music industry.
"Miami Law remains committed to developing outstanding lawyers, equipped with the practical training and industry acumen necessary for success," Levy emphasized. "Congratulations to all of our remarkable alumni who made the list. Your work exemplifies the excellence we strive for at Miami Law!"
