The Princeton Review, known for its education services and school rankings, has released its Best Law Schools 2025, listing the top 168 law schools in the country. The University of Miami School of Law has ranked the nation's third-best law school for the best quality of life and second-best law school for the most diverse faculty.

Focus on supporting students and strengthening community

Given the School of Law's strong emphasis on student support and community building, it is no surprise that it ranks among the top 10 in the quality-of-life category. The ranking is derived from students' answers to survey questions about sense of community, school location, quality of social life, and research resources. The diversity of faculty ranking is based on institutional demographic data and law student' ratings of their perception of diversity among the law faculty.

Second-year student Benjamin Lemon agrees that the school fosters a welcoming environment. "I am happy at Miami Law because the people, the campus, and the plethora of professional opportunities are second to none. I have found my home for law school, where a vibrant city, a welcoming campus community, and a wide range of course offerings all support me to achieve great things."

The rankings were also arrived at from whether differing opinions are tolerated in the classroom and the availability of research resources for students. Ali Blanchard, a 2L, said, "The environment strikes the right balance between collaboration and healthy competition. My classmates are supportive and willing to work together. The professors are approachable and genuinely invested in their students' success, which makes learning engaging and accessible. On top of that, the beautiful campus and weather create an uplifting atmosphere that makes each day more enjoyable."

The rankings name the top 10 law schools in 14 categories based on The Princeton Review's surveys of 19,600 students attending 168 law schools in the United States, and of administrators at the schools.

"It's especially meaningful to be recognized as one of the nation's top law schools in these areas," said Interim Dean Patricia Sanchez Abril. "Students and alumni frequently highlight our dynamic culture and faculty as hallmarks of the Miami Law experience. These rankings celebrate our culture of intellectual and social engagement, dialogue, and belonging—all essential elements that shape future leaders in the legal profession."
