The University of Miami Business School is welcoming its largest and most experienced full-time M.B.A. class, reinforcing the program’s upward trajectory as the school heads into the new academic year.
This fall’s cohort includes 41 students, with an average of five years of professional experience. At an average age of 27, the class brings together seasoned professionals from 12 countries with strong academic credentials, carrying an average undergraduate GPA of 3.53. Thirty-one percent of the class is international, with representation from across Latin America, Europe and the Middle East.
“As Miami continues to grow as a global business hub, our full-time M.B.A. is building tremendous momentum,” said Thomas Kegelman, associate dean of marketing and admissions at the University of Miami Business School. “This is our largest incoming class in recent years, bringing together talented professionals with strong academic backgrounds and impressive work experience. We’re incredibly excited about this class and the future of the program.”
Students in the incoming cohort arrive from major global brands across various industries and sectors, with experience spanning organizations like EY, L’Oreal, Visa, Marriott, Morgan Stanley, Amazon Web Services, Siemens and the U.S. Air Force.
Classes like this one are fueling the program’s rapid ascent. The full-time M.B.A. program rose to No. 39 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 rankings, a climb of 36 spots over three years.
“Stronger classes drive stronger outcomes, and stronger outcomes attract the next generation of talent,” Kegelman said. “That cycle is taking hold here in a very real way, and this class is proof of it.”
The momentum at Miami Business School extends well beyond the full-time M.B.A. program. Fall 2026 also brings the largest incoming undergraduate class in the school’s history and the largest M.D./M.B.A. class ever. On the faculty side, the school added 10 new tenure-track scholars this year from some of the nation’s top universities, representing more than 10% faculty growth in a single year.
All of this is part of the school’s broader plan. Under Dean Paul A. Pavlou’s leadership, the Moonshot Project is a five-year strategic plan to propel the University of Miami Business School into the ranks of the nation’s top 20 business schools by its centennial in 2029. Centered on hyper-personalized education, career propulsion and the distinct advantage of learning in one of the world’s fastest-growing business hubs, the strategy is already producing results across enrollment, rankings and faculty investment.
With a record-setting class, a rising national profile and a bold strategic vision taking hold, the University of Miami Business School enters the 2026-27 academic year positioned for its strongest chapter yet.
