The Bermont/Carlin finance students gained insight from industry leaders at such top firms as Blackrock, the world’s largest asset management firm; global financial services firms UBS and Credit Suisse; JP Morgan Wealth Management; investment advisor DRA Advisors; and global banking firms Goldman Sachs, Citi and Barclays.
The marketing scholars were just as busy, with stops at Global Brands Group, whose portfolio includes such top brands as Calvin Klein, Under Armour, Juicy Couture, Frye, Joe’s, Spyder, Cole Haan, Kenneth Cole, and Jones New York; global marketing research firm Nielson; Horizon Media, the world’s largest and fastest growing privately held media services agency; PepsiCo; and Citi.
Most of the meetings were hosted by UM alumni who hold executive positions the firms and provided an opportunity for students to delve into the industries the firms represent. Many of the scholars from previous years have gone on to land internships and jobs at the firms they had visited.
The Bermont/Carlin Scholars trip is funded by a donation from Richard B. Bermont and Adam E. Carlin (MBA ’94), senior partners of The Bermont/Carlin Group at Morgan Stanley. The Marketing Scholars trip is supported by Michael Goldstein, a parent of a student, and Robert Milo (BBA ’65) and Amelia “Amy” Milo (BBA ’65).
