Master of Accounting Program Receives STEM Designation

Miami Business School (MBS) announced on Thursday that the Master of Accounting (MAcc) program has officially received STEM designation. With this distinction, MBS now offers four STEM-designated graduate programs -- more than any other business school in Florida. Effective Fall 2019 for continuing and prospective students, the STEM-designated program will be eligible for the Department of Homeland Security’s OPT visa extension program.

The MAcc program joins MBS's growing collection of STEM-designated programs, which are Masters of Science in Finance, Business Analytics and Sustainable Business.

The program offers the high degree of concentration in financial and managerial accounting, auditing and systems demanded of accounting professionals in public accountancy and industry today. It is among just a handful of such programs across the nation to be fully accredited by AACSB International, the leading accrediting body for business schools worldwide.

MAcc graduates typically seek employment with public accounting firms as auditors, or with industry or government as accounting and information specialists. Students can complete the MAcc program in two semesters of full-time study.
