The award is the top honor bestowed by the association that celebrates and recognizes practices that foster community outreach and diversity and inclusion.

Ramos was recognized for her work in empowering young adults and women from diverse backgrounds to succeed in college and in their careers.

“Diversity can be about the small things, like a word of encouragement or giving someone a chance, and I’m proud to receive this recognition from a consistently inclusive organization like ABC,” said Ramos.

Founded in 1935, the Association for Business Communication is considered the premier international business communication organization.

"Larissa was the fifth winner of our annual award,” said Jacquelyn Lowman, Chair of the ABC Diversity and Inclusion Committee. “Every year the competition grows stiffer and it is sometimes difficult to choose a winner. For our 2020 pool, however, Larissa was clearly in a class by herself.  The work that she has done empowering young adults and women from diverse backgrounds, helping them succeed in college and careers, is awe-inspiring."
