Miami Herbert climbs in Financial Times Global MBA Ranking for corporate social responsibility
In its Global MBA Ranking 2021, Financial Times ranked Miami Herbert No. 17 MBA program in the world, No. 5 in the U.S. for corporate social responsibility. Miami Herbert improved by an impressive 24 spots from last year’s Financial Times worldwide rankings (#41 in 2020). The ranking was based on  the number of core curriculum hours related to corporate social responsibility, ethics, and social and environmental issues.

“Sustainability is at the core of Miami Herbert Business School’s DNA,” said John Quelch, dean of Miami Herbert. “From our unique STEM-certified MS in Sustainable Business to LEED O&M certification of our buildings, we are among the leading business schools addressing climate change and sustainability broadly defined in the classroom, in our research and in the business community.”

This ranking comes on the heels of the No. #21 global and #7 national ranking in Corporate Knights 2021 Better World MBA Rankings, which assesses business schools worldwide on their commitment to sustainable development.

David Kelly, a professor of economics and the academic director of the sustainable business program, said Miami Herbert established the sustainable business program to fulfill an emerging need for professionals who understand how business can positively impact stakeholders.

“The faculty, staff, and students on the Miami Herbert team have worked tirelessly over the last few years to realize the goal of making the school the leading institution for sustainable business,” said Kelly.  Together, we have infused sustainability throughout our programs, brought in world-class speakers from industry, academia, and government, and built an MS program in sustainable business that shows, in theory and practice, how companies can profit from solving pressing environmental and social problems. It is great to see all their efforts recognized, first with the #7 Corporate Knights Ranking and now the #5 Financial Times ranking.”

In addition to its high marks for corporate social responsibility, Miami Herbert’s MBA ranked No. 93 globally and No. 47 nationally.
