The Executive MBA for Health Management and Policy (HEMBA) program has been selected to join the CAHME Mentorship Circle, an honor reserved for university programs that excel within the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education (CAHME).

“We are honored to be one of the select Health Management and Policy programs to be invited into the CAHME Mentorship Circle, and one of the only business school-based programs,” said Steven Ullmann, professor and director of Miami Herbert’s Center for Health Management and Policy. “It is truly a  reflection of the quality of our program, its curriculum, faculty, staff, and its students, and our commitment to the principles of ethical leadership in health care. “

CAHME accreditation is the established standard of measurement for graduate healthcare management education. Miami Herbert’s HEMBA program, one of the first business school-based health management and policy programs in the U.S., has been CAHME-accredited since the early 1980s.

The CAHME Mentorship Circle was established to recognize programs that demonstrate a commitment to advance the quality of healthcare management education. Of the 120 CAHME-accredited programs, only 19 are members of the Mentorship Circle.

"We are pleased to welcome the University of Miami MBA program as a member of the CAHME Mentorship Circle," said Anthony C. Stanowski, president and CEO of the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education. "Not only is the University of Miami MBA CAHME-accredited, they are actively giving back to the profession by working to meet CAHME’s mission to advance the quality of healthcare management education, not only for their program but for healthcare programs around the globe."

Miami Herbert Business is also a member of BAHM (Business School Alliance for Health Management), a collaborative nonprofit organization, comprised of the country’s most prestigious business schools, committed to the belief that management education, applied to the challenges of health care delivery and health care innovation, plays a special role in creating new and important solutions.

The School is also a member of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), a global network of colleges, universities, faculty, individuals and organizations dedicated to the improvement of health care delivery through excellence in healthcare management and policy education.
