Poets&Quants for Undergrads unveiled its seventh annual Best Undergraduate Business Schools of 2023 rankings today, which placed Miami Herbert first in the state and #28 in the nation, two places higher than last year. The ranking is considered the most objective assessment of undergraduate business programs with 93 schools ranked.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our faculty and staff, who are committed to delivering a world-class business education," said Ann Olazábal, interim dean of Miami Herbert. “Every day, we strive to develop innovative ideas and principled leaders that transform global business and society and work hard to provide an environment in which students thrive and grow.”

Poets&Quants for Undergrads compiled the 2023 exclusive rankings based on a representative survey of alumni and school-reported data. Recent graduates across the 93 schools were surveyed on aspects of faculty availability, extracurricular opportunities, extracurricular opportunities, and accessibility of the alumni network.

The ranking is based on three equally weighted categories of admissions standards, academic experience, and career outcomes. For the first time ever, diversity data in the admissions standards were included in the calculations. Data points on first-generation college students, underrepresented minorities, international students, and women enrolling in business programs were part of the calculation. The rankings also included two years of career outcomes data and alumni survey data.

Miami Herbert saw significant gains in its career outcomes, up 10 places from 2022; admissions, up four places from 2022; and academic experience, up two places from 2022.

“These rankings are important because they recognize the value of a Miami Herbert education,” said Hari Natarajan, vice dean of business programs at Miami Herbert. "Our dedicated faculty and staff have worked tirelessly to create cutting-edge programs that prioritize technology and analytics, global impact, sustainability, and diversity and inclusion. By equipping our students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the job market of the future, we are empowering them to achieve their professional goals and make a meaningful impact in the world."
