On May 19-20, the University of Miami Patti and Allan Herbert Business School and AIS SIGBIT are set to host the first-ever Business of Blockchain Technology Conference bringing together experts from academia and industry to discuss the future of blockchain research, business-relevant blockchain technology, issues, and applications.
The two-day conference will serve as a platform for presenting and discussing novel research on the business of blockchain technology, featuring both conceptual and empirical work, as well as panel discussions about topics such as the future of crypto markets and decentralized autonomous organizations.
The theme of the conference revolves around the concept of decentralization inherent to blockchain technology, which challenges traditional centralized models in various sectors. The event aims to explore the intersection between established practices and innovative applications, anticipating a transformative period for businesses.
"This conference demonstrates our dedication to fostering innovation and equipping our students with the skills they need to excel in the rapidly evolving business landscape,” said Ola Henfridsson, professor and associate dean of online business programs at Miami Herbert. “We are proud to host this event, which will not only showcase groundbreaking research and advancements but also create opportunities for meaningful partnerships and collaborations in the field."
Keynote speakers include Roman Beck, head of the European Blockchain Center and professor at IT University of Copenhagen; and Hanna Halaburda, associate professor of technology, operations, and statistics at NYU Stern School of Business and former senior economist at the Bank of Canada.
The conference is made possible by the generous support of our sponsor, TradeStation Group, Inc. (“TradeStation”), a Florida-based company whose operating subsidiaries provide award-winning, self-clearing online brokerage services for trading stocks, ETFs, options, futures, and crypto that aim to offer the ultimate trading experience.
