Forty top business leaders from across Latin America recently convened at the University of Miami Patti and Allan Herbert Business School for an intensive five-day executive education program in Spanish.
The program was produced in collaboration with Euncet Business School and featured world-class insights from Miami Herbert faculty, industry experts, and the latest academic research on pressing business topics.
Held largely on the University of Miami campus, the program provided high-level training in global business strategy, leadership, and innovation.
Participants also made site visits to the headquarters of Perry Ellis, a global leader in apparel, and Ocean Cadillac, a high-end automobile dealership. These immersive experiences allowed the executives to observe best practices in action and engage with industry leaders, making the program’s learning both practical and impactful.
"Executive education is essential for the professional development of all of us,” said Juan Carlos Gutierrez, director general of technology and innovation at Amazon Web Services LATAM. “Having this type of program at the University of Miami is exceptional and fundamental.”
Designed to address the evolving challenges faced by business leaders, the program incorporated both classroom lectures and hands-on activities aimed at developing key strategic, leadership, and operational skills.
“I believe that executive education never ends,” said Gabriella Sanchez, treasurer at Grupo Dportens in Mexico. “There have been interesting classes in which we have learned different skills that I think will help us do things better when we return home.”
Miami Herbert’s Global Strategic Leadership Program included five academic sessions delivered in half-day increments to allow participants to experience the culture of Miami.
The program also featured customized sessions addressing the specific needs of participants.
“We have committed ourselves to creating programs tailored to our clients—addressing their specific needs,” said Suzy Alvarez-Diaz, assistant professor in Miami Herbert’s Management Department. “We seek out faculty experts in those areas and provide their expertise to our clients.”
That level of attention and responsiveness to participant needs has helped Miami Herbert’s Executive Education program climb global rankings in recent years.
In the latest Financial Times Executive Education rankings of 90 business school executive education programs, Miami Herbert ranked No. 3 in the U.S. and No. 5 in the Americas.
As the business world continues to evolve, Miami Herbert’s Executive Education program remains committed to providing world-class education and empowering business leaders to excel in today’s competitive global market.
“I have a thirst for knowledge, for staying close to what’s new, and for always looking ahead,” said Roberto Becerra, vice president at Grupo Alerta. “It’s five days that are absolutely worth it.”
