The University of Miami Patti and Allan Herbert Business School’s Full-Time M.B.A. program has earned a place among the nation’s top 50 in U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Graduate Schools rankings—marking the first top 50 appearance in the school’s almost 100-year history.
Ranked No. 50, Miami Herbert rose 12 spots from last year’s ranking, continuing its upward trajectory with a total 25-spot improvement over the past two years—one of the fastest climbs by any M.B.A. program nationally. Among private institutions, Miami Herbert ranks No. 27.
Dean Paul A. Pavlou attributes Miami Herbert’s meteoric rise to a powerful combination of academic excellence, student career success, and global recognition.
“Breaking into the top 50 for the first time ever is a major achievement and a testament to the collective effort of the entire Miami Herbert community,” he said. “This achievement signals the powerful momentum propelling us into the ranks of the top 20 business schools.”
Several factors contributed to the improved ranking, including strong employment outcomes and a more competitive admissions profile for the incoming fall students. Full-time M.B.A. employment three months after graduation was No.1 in the country at 97 percent, while peer and recruiter assessment scores both increased—reflecting Miami Herbert’s growing reputation and strengthened industry engagement. The admissions profile also improved, with higher average undergraduate GPAs, stronger GRE scores, and a more selective acceptance rate.
This milestone comes as Miami Herbert launches its bold new 2025–2029 strategic plan, a roadmap to transform the school into a top 20 business school by its centennial in 2029. Named the “Moonshot Project,” which officially launches April 8, 2025, the day of the University of Miami’s centennial celebration, the plan outlines a vision for Miami Herbert to become the top destination for a personalized, transformative education that ensures lifelong career success.
"Breaking into the top 50 is just the beginning—our Moonshot Project is a bold commitment to propelling Miami Herbert into the top 20 business schools, redefining business education through pioneering research, personalized education, and emphasis on lifelong career success,” said Pavlou.
