The University of Miami Patti and Allan Herbert Business School has successfully maintained its accreditation from the Association of MBAs (AMBA), reaffirming its place among the world’s most distinguished business schools to hold the coveted triple crown designation.
Fewer than 1 percent of business schools globally earn accreditation from all three leading international bodies (AMBA, AACSB, and EQUIS), placing Miami Herbert in an exceptionally elite group.
“We are proud to once again earn AMBA accreditation for five years without conditions, maintaining the coveted triple-crown accreditation achieved by only a few of the world’s leading business schools,” said Paul A. Pavlou, dean of Miami Herbert. “This renewal affirms the excellence of our programs, the impact of our research, and our commitment to delivering a transformational personalized experience for our students. AMBA represents one of the most rigorous standards in global business education for MBA programs, and this recognition reinforces our trajectory as a top, globally renowned business school.”
AMBA accreditation is the only one of the three major business school accreditations focused exclusively on MBA programs. Its assessment criteria emphasize program innovation, measurable outcomes, and a strong student and alumni experience.
Established in 1967 in London, AMBA is a globally respected accreditation organization that evaluates postgraduate business programs based on rigorous criteria across faculty qualifications, curriculum design, cohort experience, and graduate outcomes. AMBA accredits programs in the top 2 percent of business schools across more than 75 countries, representing a highly selective network of approximately 316 institutions worldwide.
Only two business schools in the United States currently hold AMBA accreditation. Miami Herbert first earned this distinction in 2022, achieving triple-crown status and underscoring its commitment to high-quality, globally relevant business education.
This year’s peer review was led by Dr. Steef van de Velde, former dean of Rotterdam School of Management at Erasmus University. The review team commended Miami Herbert’s ambitious new strategic plan, the Moonshot Project, its strong research productivity, and the faculty’s deep commitment to student success and alumni engagement. The peer review team outlined Miami Herbert’s high-touch personalized approach to education as a distinguishing strength.
