Simulation Hospital Annual Symposium: Preparing & Responding to Disasters

The University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies hosts its Simulation Hospital Annual Symposium: Preparing & Responding to Disasters on Monday, October 1, from 8 am to 12 p.m. in the Simulation Hospital Auditorium, 2nd floor. Registration and light breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., with Simulation Hospital tours available on request after the program. Admission is free. The SONHS is located at 5030 Brunson Drive, Coral Gables, FL 33146.

Join an expert panel of speakers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and UM Emergency Management for an open dialogue on how to prepare for and effectively respond to crucial needs during disasters.

Topics will include Healthcare Infection Prevention and Control, Emergency Response: Global & Local, and a concluding session on the hemispheric impact of the SONHS Simulation Hospital led by SONHS faculty Dr. Jeffrey Groom, associate dean for Simulation Programs and the International Academy for Clinical Simulation Research, and Dr. Susana Barroso-Fernandez, director of Simulation Hospital Special Projects.
