Meet the Sims!

As a simulation technologist at the Simulation Hospital Advancing Research and Education (S.H.A.R.E.™), Robert Brau helps bring learning to life for hundreds of students weekly. For Robert a day at the office might include acting out mystery ailments as standardized patients, running control rooms, re-creating bloody wounds for emergency response trainings, setting up skills stations for visiting school groups, or hooking up high-tech medical equipment and prepping prototypes for leading-edge research taking place at S.H.A.R.E.™.

Here’s Robert’s take on a career in health care simulation.

Years on the job? Seven

What did you do before? I was in technology integration with a company that serviced the control and audiovisual systems for UM.

What three words best describe your work at S.H.A.R.E.?  Challenging, motivating and inspiring.

What's your favorite part about being a S.H.A.R.E. sim tech? The inspiration I get every day from my coworkers and students.
