The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists announced this month the appointment of Greta Mitzova-Vladinov, DNP ’13, to its Advisory Council reviewing the INACSL Standards of Best Practice: Simulation©. INACSL is the International Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning.

Dr. Mitzova-Vladinov, APRN, CRNA, CHSE, is an assistant professor of clinical at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies (SONHS), the associate director for the school’s BSN-DNP Nurse Anesthesia track, and a member of the faculty team for S.H.A.R.E.™ (Simulation Hospital Advancing Research and Education).

In her role on the AANA Education Committee’s five-member 2021 Simulation Sub-Committee, Mitzova-Vladinov remains current on the state of simulation science in support of the nurse anesthesia profession.

The University of Miami recently highlighted Mitzova-Vladinov’s work on developing extended reality technology to enact innovative educational solutions. “We are planning to use XR to enhance teaching in simulation by practicing virtually in mixed-reality prior to encountering those very high-risk scenarios in the operating room,” she explained.
