University of Miami has Florida’s No.1 private B.S.N. program

The B.S.N. program at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies continues to be the top-ranked program at a private institution in Florida. In the newly released edition of U.S. News & World Report’s “Best Colleges” listing of Best Undergraduate Nursing Programs, the school was named Florida’s No. 1 top private nursing school and No. 13 top private nursing school nationwide. Out of 686 accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) programs surveyed, the school tied as the No. 39 top B.S.N. program in the United States and No. 2 top B.S.N. program in Florida.

The school offers traditional and accelerated paths to careers in nursing, preparing students to excel across a wide range of health care settings. The school’s B.S.N. program curricula align with the American Association of Colleges of Nursing’s Essentials and include courses geared toward a new generation of learners, promoting excellence in public health nursing, research, health equity, cultural competence, and patient safety.

U.S. News undergraduate nursing program rankings are determined by the average of scores received from surveys of top academics and officials at nursing schools or departments. Schools must have bachelor’s-level accreditation by either the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing, be regionally accredited, and have recently awarded at least 50 B.S.N. degrees.
