The month-long art exhibition in the CAS Gallery on the Coral Gables campus explores the many legacies and the impact that people of African descent have had on the Americas and the world.
Social Justice is the belief that each person deserves equal rights and opportunities—legally, economically, politically, and socially. Whether through the medium of visual art, a photographer’s lens, music, or spoken word, the dialogue will focus on connecting the dots across generations and bridging the gaps across continents.
Featured artists include Ansel Butler, Julia Yarbough, Guy Syllien, and David Dacosta. There will be an opening reception in the CAS Gallery on Saturday, February 15, 2014, from 7 to 10 p.m. The reception and exhibition are free and open to the public.
