Pi Delta Phi Receives Second Prize at the 2015 France on Campus Award Competition

The Pi Delta Phi-Beta Gamma Chapter at the University of Miami College of Arts and Sciences, also referred to as the French Honor Society, received the Second Prize of the 2015 France on Campus Award Competition for the project entitled, French Pioneers of Science: Jacques Cousteau Under the Sea.

This is a national competition sponsored by the Cultural Services of the French Embassy in New York. Visiting Professor of French Lauren Van Arsdall assisted Rode Carpio, Beta Gamma Chapter President and University of Miami student, with the project proposal to develop a film series about conservation and do an art project and beach clean-up initiative that would coincide with Earth Day.
 
The award letter stated: "The originality of your project, your interest in promoting French culture, as well as your willingness to reach out to a broad audience have been greatly appreciated by the Award Review Committee.”
