To members of the University of Miami community,
It is very sad to report to you that Professor Jonathan West passed away Sunday night, January 2, 2022. Jonathan joined the faculty of the University on January 1981 and has had a profound impact on the University, the community, and the study of public administration. Jonathan was a member of the Iron Arrow Society, a recipient of the lifetime achievement award from the American Society for Public Administration’s Section on Ethics, and he received the Luis Glaser Mentorship Award in 2021.
He will be sorely missed by his colleagues and students. Our condolences to his wife, his family, and friends as they go through this difficult time. There will be a public memorial on campus later in the spring. We will circulate details when they become available.
