Mental health stigma is found in American society as a whole, but is particularly pronounced in our Black communities. While we dismantle structural racism in the mental health field, we must also dismantle mental health stigma within ourselves.
In the black community, we believe in the grind and working 10x harder than everyone else in order to get where we want to be. Yet, in this flow and journey to making our dreams a reality we rarely take time to collect our thoughts or just breathe. Let’s start to change that.
