The first projected surveyed the perceptions of concussions by key athletic personnel, the perceived impact of concussions on high school participation rates, and examined measures implemented by high schools to improve athletic safety. Ongoing and future projects will examine the role of the media and its portrayal of concussions, as well as the views of athletic trainers and other healthcare professionals on how the media communicates concussion information and its possible influence on sports participation. The first collaborative pilot project was recently published in Applied Research in Coaching and Athletic Annual.
