What is your favorite vacation spot? OR Where is the most interesting place you’ve visited?
I have been to Italy 3 times (Florence, Rome,Tuscany Region, Pisa, Venice) to name a few, and each time feels like a new experience. One of my favorite cities is a small bustling town called Reiti that has pretty much everything you need but with a mom and pop feel. I love Italian cuisine and I look forward to soon venturing to the Southern sphere of the country.
What is your favorite movie and why?
Being the tomboy that I am I grew up loving the movie "Love and Basketball". I never thought I would go and play in college or professionally but this movie made you think that it was a possibility. It also brought about one of my mottos "Be comfortable being uncomfortable."
What is your favorite hobby or thing to do on weekends?
I love exploring a city and finding new places to eat or off the beaten path activities. Moving to Miami has opened my eyes to so many other cuisines to explore.
What is special about the place you grew up? OR What is your favorite childhood memory?
I am a native Brooklynite. Born and raised in Brooklyn, NY was an amazing experience that I would not trade for the world. I believe it was the fuel that helped to give me the confidence to come to Miami and be open to a new experience and season in my life. I was fortunate growing up to be in a melting pot that pushed me to be culturally aware and to investigate and explore.
What is something nobody would guess about you (that you are willing to disclose!)?
I used to be a brown belt in Karate.
What was your first impression of UM (or SEHD) when you first started working/going to school here?
My first impression when I first started working on UM's campus was a sense of support and community that was "perfectly flawed" as some may say. People may not have all the answers but they were willing to try and help you figure it out. There is a sense of warmth and a communal vibe I embraced from the minute I came on campus for my interview.
