The University of Miami School of Education and Human Development is proud to announce the promotion of Alexander Mas, an alumnus of the M.S.Ed. in Higher Education Administration program, to Assistant Dean at the Graduate School.
Mas credits his educational journey at UM for shaping his career trajectory.
"The M.S.Ed. program equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of higher education systems and leadership strategies, which have been invaluable in my professional growth," Mas said. His experience in the program has prepared him to take on the complexities of graduate education, with a focus on enhancing student success and institutional growth.
Dr. Carol-Anne Phekoo commended Mas as "outstanding," highlighting his integrity, leadership, and academic excellence during his time in the program.
"Alex was the best scholar and writer in his cohort, a leading light to his peers. I’m incredibly proud of him," Dr. Phekoo said.
In his new role as Assistant Dean, Mas will continue to apply his expertise in academic affairs, policy updates, and graduate student support, ensuring the Graduate School remains a pillar of excellence at UM.
